Job summary

Steel & O'Brien Manufacturing in Wichita, KS is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide hands-on maintenance support for production equipment, lead technicians, and drive reliability and safety across the plant.

This full-time, first-shift role includes proactive maintenance planning, troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and CNC systems, plus collaboration with operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical troubleshooting, PLCs, and CNC machinery.
• Experience with CMMS and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians to ensure safe, effective operations.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Schedule activities to minimize downtime and coordinate with operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Support capital improvements and equipment upgrades.
