Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA seeks a Maintenance Lead for the Weekday Shift (Mon-Thu, 5:55 AM–5:55 PM). This hands-on leadership role requires strong mechanical expertise, proactive problem solving, and mentoring to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will lead a maintenance team, oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, and ensure GMP and safety compliance while driving continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Food Safety.
• Experience working with baggers, motors, drives, fryers, and packaging equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the maintenance team, prioritizing work orders for timely completion.
• Oversee preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory and tools to support repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe work culture.
• Document repairs and maintenance in the EAM system for audits.
• Promote 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide hands-on training to maintenance technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career-driven, and customer-focused team, and we are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Lead to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on the Weekday Shift. This hands-on leadership role is perfect for someone with strong mechanical expertise, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and a passion for mentoring and leading a team. As a Maintenance Lead, you’ll play a critical role in keeping our production equipment running smoothly, safely, and efficiently, while supporting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. This role will be working Monday to Thursday 5:55AM-5:55PM.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring work orders are prioritized and completed effectively.
• Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, and PLC-controlled systems, including baggers, motors, drives, fryers, and packaging machines.
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies to support timely repairs.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, EPA, and Food Safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Accurately document repairs and preventive maintenance in the EAM system to meet audit requirements.
• Promote and implement 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Identify and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Provide hands-on support and training to maintenance technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
