Job summary

Grand Central Bakery is seeking a Janitor Lead to keep the facility and grounds clean in support of bakery production and café operations. The role includes driving company vehicles between locations and performing maintenance on ovens, dishwashers, mixers and freezers.

The position requires flexibility to work holidays and weekends, and reports to the Facilities Manager. You will train staff, manage safety procedures, and ensure high cleaning standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required; English/Spanish bilingual preferred
• Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card at all times
• Must demonstrate regular attendance and be able to work weekends/holidays
• Prior experience leading, training, and coaching preferred
• Basic math and computer skills, including MS Outlook
• Has a valid driver’s license with 5 years driving experience and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning surfaces
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment areas such as ovens, dishwashers, mixers and freezers
• Provide on-site support for equipment issues and preventative maintenance
• Transport equipment, supplies and staff between Grand Central Bakery locations using company vehicles
• Complete inventory, ordering and documentation accurately and on time
• Assist Facilities Manager and adjust staffing as needed
• Train new hires on safety protocols and workplace procedures
• Comply with safety requirements and report hazards promptly
• Lead by example in professional communication and customer service
