Job summary

The job pays $24.61 per hour and is full-time, non-exempt with overtime eligibility. Schedule flexibility is essential as operations run seven days a week year-round.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required
• Maintains a valid Food Handler’s Card and follows health guidelines
• Regular attendance and reliability for varied shifts including weekends/holidays
• HS diploma/GED preferred
• Basic math and basic computer skills required
• Driving eligibility: valid WA/OR license with suitable driving record
• Follows Driver Safety Manual and may need to pass driving test
• Ability to work independently with high autonomy
• Attention to changing task-lists and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning vertical surfaces
• Clean bakery and café equipment tops and ducts
• Manage trash and recycling appropriately
• Laundry sorting and documentation at assigned location
• Provide on-site support for equipment and maintenance
• Move and maintain equipment using company vehicles where qualified
• Complete ordering and inventory duties accurately
• Document and communicate via site management systems
• Contribute to training and coaching of teammates
• Adhere to safety requirements and report hazards

Job Summary: Janitorial Employees are responsible for keeping the entire facility and grounds clean, sanitary and in compliance with all applicable health and sanitation codes to support the production of great artisan bread and delicious café food. The Janitor 2 Driver position is the second of four Maintenance levels. This position may drive Grand Central Bakery vehicles to various Grand Central Bakery locations if requirements are met.

This role requires driving, candidates must have valid drivers license and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery.

Pay: $24.61/ hour

Supervision: This position reports to the Facilities Manager with and is accountable to the Janitorial Lead.

Schedule Requirements: Grand Central Bakery operates 7 days a week/365 days a year. Schedule flexibility is essential including the ability to work extra hours or days based on department needs.

Essential job responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily and other assigned cleaning tasks including but not limited to:
• Sweeping
• Mopping
• Dusting and cleaning of vertical surfaces, ducts, and high areas such as tops of coolers and ovens bakery and café equipment
• Emptying all trash and recycling into the appropriate bins.
• Washing, sorting and documenting laundry use at assigned location.
• Providing ongoing or specific project landscaping as directed.
• Provide on-site support for equipment and technical issues as directed including ongoing preventative maintenance, repairs, or installation of on-site equipment.
• Maintenance or installation of on-site equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, mixers, and freezers
• If qualified and approved to drive, transports equipment, cleaning supplies, and other maintenance employees to and from Grand Central Bakery locations to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks using company vehicles.
• Complete all ordering and inventory duties as assigned in the appropriate systems or documents with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
• Responsible for accurately and promptly completing all required documentation and communication systems: laundry numbers, travel check list, equipment spreadsheets, workbook, and feedback via email to site managers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required
• Maintains a valid Food Handler’s Card at all times and follows health department guidelines at all times.
• Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time. May be required to work a variety of days and shifts to meeting business need including weekends and holidays.

• Basic computer skills including use of MS Outlook or similar email program required
• In order to drive the following requirements must be met:
• Has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery.
• Follows policies and procedures in the Driver Safety Manual at all times.
• Must pass a company administered driving test.
• The ability to work independently and efficiently with a high degree of autonomy required
• Flexibility and attention to detail to accurately fulfill frequently changing task-lists required

• This position works in a building shared with production facilities is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
