Job summary

Apartment Management Consultants (AMC) is seeking a Maintenance Assistant Manager to support the maintenance manager, supervise on-site maintenance tasks, and mentor service, housekeeping, and grounds staff. The role emphasizes safety, scheduling, and hands-on technical work across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

As an on-site leader, you will manage daily activities, ensure OSHA compliance, handle on-call duties, and drive improvements while maintaining tools, logs, and vendor

Qualifications

• Property maintenance/handyman experience.
• Knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Ability to operate various hand tools including power tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform and schedule daily maintenance tasks including preparing vacant units for occupancy and preventative maintenance.
• Assist in training of service, housekeeping/custodial, and grounds staff.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Identify process improvements to maintenance methods.
• Maintain MSDS sheets and replacement logs.
• Report personnel performance concerns to leadership.
• Assist in inventory ordering and coordinating with vendors.
• Ensure OSHA standards and company safety policies are followed at all times.
• Handle lock-outs due to evictions and respond to service requests within 24 hours.
• Be available to work on an on-call basis.
• Report unusual circumstances regarding the property or residents.
• Remove snow and ice as necessary.
• Ensure necessary tools are on hand.
