Job summary

Apex Tool Group is seeking a Maintenance Lead at our Apex, NC distribution center. The role coordinates maintenance activities, prioritizes preventive work, and guides technicians as a working lead.

You’ll schedule work with operations, drive safety, and manage CMMS records to support reliability and uptime. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in industrial maintenance in warehouse or manufacturing settings, plus strong leadership, problem-solving, and a basic CMMS knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or automated warehouse environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
• Familiarity with CMMS software and maintenance planning processes.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft 365 applications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to the maintenance team.
• Troubleshoot and assist in the repair of conveyors, sortation systems, material handling equipment, dock equipment, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Work with Operations and Facilities leadership to schedule maintenance activities and support business needs.
• Report equipment failures, safety concerns, and maintenance performance metrics to management.
• Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures.
• Manage work orders in the CMMS and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work areas.
• Participate in after-hours support as required.
• Perform hands-on maintenance duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
