Job Summary

The maintenance lead manages daily maintenance operations, directs maintenance team activities, troubleshoots and repairs equipment to minimize downtime, and supports the maintenance team with projects and repairs as directed by the department manager.

Essential Lead Job Functions

• Assign daily work orders to maintenance team members
• Follow up on work order status and completion times
• Ensure accurate recording of work performed, labor, parts, and time
• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs
• Prioritize breakdowns, repairs, and projects with the department manager

Essential Job Functions

• Lead mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, including leaks, pump systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, cylinders, and mechanical hardware
• Assist with mechanical preventive maintenance
• Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment
• Work with various mechanical components and understand tolerances and schematics
• Lead setup and rigging for roll changes and repairs
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs

Additional responsibilities include maintaining professionalism, safety, cleanliness, and supporting team learning and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Minimum 7 years of industrial electrical/mechanical experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of facility systems (structural, electrical, plumbing)
• Ability to work additional hours/weekends
• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
• Fluent in schematics and blueprints
• Experience with industrial software (Allen Bradley, Indramat, Profibus, Mitsubishi)
• Ability to work independently

Tools and equipment used include hand tools, power tools, safety devices, PPE, computers, forklifts, lifts, and more.

Safety and Working Conditions

Adherence to safety guidelines, GMP, and Food Safety standards is required. The environment involves machinery, loud noise, temperature variations, and potential outdoor work in various weather conditions.
