Job description

Qualified Maintenance Tech Lead for our Rural Hall, NC plant to assist with preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance. In this role, you will apply your expertise in mechanical maintenance to improve the overall efficiency of the plant. Strong organizational, teamwork and self-starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Follow procedures to perform required PM programs and general maintenance tasks including mechanical repair.
  • Document all work performed in a timely, accurate, and detailed manner using the current maintenance system and other reporting structures as determined by the supervisor.
  • Work to continuously improve the machines and the standardized procedures used to maintain them. Demonstrated ability to communicate your ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Has a clear understanding of production goals.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Understand, identify, and take steps to prevent quality defects through the performance of quality checks.
  • Performs, handles, and uses all tools safely. Follows OSHA and Hood Corporation’s standards, including energy isolation.
  • Elevated requirement.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

What it Takes:

  • Education and/or Experience – High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training in a production environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  • Basic Computer knowledge
  • Read an electrical meter.
  • Troubleshoot and repair problems.
  • Knowledge and the ability to use power tools.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, HVAC, and Electrical skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
