Job Summary

The Maintenance Laborer will landscape or maintain the grounds of property using power tools or equipment. Responsibilities include tasks such as sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing plants, installing pine straw/mulch, digging, and raking.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

• Work in various weather conditions, perform tasks such as trash pickup, flower planting, sod laying, fertilizing, chemical applications, planting trees and shrubs, landscape construction, irrigation maintenance, storm cleanup, shop cleanup, equipment maintenance, documentation, street cleaning, pond maintenance, holiday decorating, and working from heights.
• Check high-priority areas daily for debris, weeds, or anything unsightly.
• Fuel up equipment daily and check safety, fuel, oil, tire pressure before use.
• Operate mowing equipment, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and other maintenance tools.
• Properly apply fertilizers, pesticides, and chemicals.
• Complete work efficiently and leave job sites in a safe, clean state.
• Assist on projects as needed and adhere to safety policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Operate various mowers and landscaping tools.
• Maintain grounds, trim shrubs, and improve gardens.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in landscaping, construction, or similar fields.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with irrigation systems and programming is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Mobility, ability to reach overhead, work in various positions, lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
