Job summary

Goodwill Central Coast is hiring a Maintenance / Janitorial Assistant to support maintenance, grounds keeping, and janitorial tasks at assigned facilities. The role requires a safety-minded, dependable individual who can work independently or in a team.

You will perform repairs, upkeep, and preventative tasks across equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, while also handling grounds maintenance and occasional carpentry or roofing work as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• One year of industrial maintenance experience, or equivalent.
• Basic math ability and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and report hazards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment and structures.
• Maintain property grounds, landscaping, fencing, and irrigation systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs at facilities and satellites.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment; complete work orders on time.
• Support janitorial duties as needed and follow safety procedures.

The position may involve dust, dirt, fumes, airborne particles, cleaning products, and other workplace hazards associated with maintenance and equipment operation. The role may require use of ladders or mechanical lifts and work in small or confined spaces.The position regularly involves walking and lifting/carrying items up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
