Maintenance Inventory Specialist

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Supervisor, the MRO Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing within the organization, assisting the Purchasing team with daily activities, maintaining cost control, processing purchase orders, and managing vendor relationships.

Position Requirements
Education, Credentials, Licenses

High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience
  • Minimum three years of experience purchasing manufacturing maintenance parts and equipment.
  • Preferred experience with MRO inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Experience requesting quotes from suppliers.
  • Preferred experience with CMMS and ERP systems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with maintenance teams.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and results-driven.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
Performance Measures and Standards
  • Place operational non-inventory and maintenance inventory purchase orders based on approved requests and replenishment reports.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data within CMMS systems.
  • Transport and receive maintenance inventory, perform cycle counts, and manage open purchase orders.
  • Communicate lead times, pricing, and delivery updates to relevant parties.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, maintenance, and support teams to meet operational needs.
  • Develop relationships with vendors and internal teams.
  • Review dead inventory quarterly and coordinate returns to vendors.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through product and vendor alternatives.
  • Handle multiple priorities efficiently under minimal supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
