Job DescriptionMaintenance TechnicianAbout the RoleThe Maintenance Mechanic performs necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on plant production equipment and facilities equipment, ensuring proper and safe operational conditions.Accountable for all projects, repairs and/or improvement on the line as well as any mold changes, and maintaining preventative maintenance.Must be able to effectively use a multi-meter for troubleshootingEnsures proper and safe operational conditions of all production and related equipment.Improve the production equipment, utilities, efficiency and reliability.Recommend, plan, repair, modify, make, install and adjust all the necessary elements following a problem or project, which may have an effect on the productivity.Analyse and resolve all issues related to the equipment.Ensures cleanliness of all equipment and related areas after repairs or PMs.Keeps all tools in good and safe condition and ensures tools are returned to its appropriate location.Assist in updating, developing and improving equipment PM programs.Communicate to supervisors on the condition of all production equipment.Direct and advise production employees when they help with repairs.Assist and train production employees in machine conversions and PMs.Assist in machine operation if need arises.Assist in maintaining appropriate stock of spare parts.Assist plant electrician in investigating any electrical related problems.Assist other maintenance employees with repairs, PMs, installation, commissioning and testing equipment.Review all machine safety procedures such as Lockout/Tagout and general safety procedures such as Fire/Evacuation, Accident Reporting, and all aspects of the Safety Contract.Physical Requirements Normal Vision Hearing/Listening Sitting Distant Vision Talking/Speaking Standing Near Vision Hand/Finger Dexterity Walking Stooping Pushing/Pulling Bending Kneeling Climbing Carrying (>50 pounds) Lifting (50+ pounds) Carrying (<50 pounds) Lifting (< 50 pounds)About YouHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to organize work within the schedules effectively and economically.Provincial/Industrial Mechanic Certification preferred.Knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics.Have basic knowledge in electricity and control.Must have prior maintenance/mechanical experience with either a minimum of 3 years or a certificate in maintenance.Injection, Blow Mold, Facilities maintenance experience preferred.Must possess basic hand tools, standard/metric.Ability to work independently, solve problems, make decisions and resolve conflictsWhat we offer youWhen you join Amcor Rigid Packaging, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits and compensation package that includes:Medical, dental and vision plansFlexible time off, including 80 hours of paid time off each year9 company-paid holidays per yearARP Wellbeing program & Employee Assistance ProgramHealth Savings Account/Flexible Spending AccountEmployer paid Life, AD&D, short-term & long-term disability, and voluntary accident disability benefitsPaid Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leaves401 (k) & ROTH 401 (k) Savings & Investment Plan w/ company matchRetirement Savings PlanTuition Reimbursement (dependent upon approval)Fitness and Rewards & Recognition ProgramsDiscretionary annual bonus program (initial eligibility dependent upon hire date)The pay range for the above referenced position is determined by taking into account many factors such as experience, qualifications, certifications, skills, education and other business-related factors. Salary decisions are based on each job.
