Job summary

Ohio Gratings, Inc. seeks an experienced maintenance technician to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair secondary equipment, including welders, riveters, and grinders, to keep operations safe and efficient.

The role involves hydraulic and mechanical press repair, lubrication, and preventative maintenance in a heavy industrial setting. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3–6 years in maintenance, and a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; 3–6 years in a medium to heavy industrial maintenance facility preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems and machine control.
• Able to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and drawings; read calipers and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair secondary equipment (welders, riveters, grinders, etc.) to safe operating conditions.
• Perform minor repair of hydraulic and mechanical presses.
• Lubricate machines and parts per procedures; perform preventative maintenance.
• Clean machines and parts using solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, etc.
• Report unsolved maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Work with hand tools and various oils/solvents; operate from lifts as needed.
• Work with computers and monitor equipment conditions.
• Adhere to all safety rules set forth by Ohio Gratings, Inc.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Communicate to the supervisor regarding unsolved maintenance issues.

EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES:

High school degree or GED is required. Additional maintenance education preferred 3 (Three) to 6 (Six) years experience in a medium to heavy industrial maintenance facility preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power (480 V) and machine control systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems. Basic knowledge of blueprint reading, wiring schematic, and drawings for the above system. Read dial calipers, tape measures, etc. Use arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their application to solve maintenance issues. Knowledgeable in repairing welders, riveters, grinders, etc.
