Job summary

JBS USA Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Omaha to inspect, test, and service industrial machinery. The role requires handling mechanical and electrical components, using hoists and hand tools, and performing preventive maintenance to keep equipment in top condition.

You will diagnose issues, replace worn parts, and work flexible hours, including overtime and some weekends, in a food industry setting. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with 2–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of industrial mechanic experience in a food industry environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test machinery to ensure proper functioning.
• Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear, replacing worn parts as needed.
• Dismantle machines to access defective parts using hoists and tools.
• Disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair.
• Operate hoists or other moving equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on drives, motors, belts, and filters.
• Troubleshoot electrical controls and components and repair as needed.
• Ensure safety and compliance during maintenance.

Experience Required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required

Skills/Abilities Required

• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to climb ladders, lift heavy objects, work with a variety of hand and power tools and shop machines
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
• Knowledge of manufacturing/packaging equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, cylinders, labeling equipment and conveyors
• Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly
• Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and some weekends
