Job summary

Archer Meat Snacks is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance, repair and installation of industrial machinery, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems in a food processing plant. You will troubleshoot failures, perform preventative maintenance, and document work in the CMMS with minimal supervision.

The role requires 3+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience and strong electrical knowledge, with a focus on improving OEE and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Basic to advanced electrical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Execute Preventative Maintenance Duties.
• Repair equipment per written maintenance procedures.
• Repair most manufacturing and facility equipment.
• Assess problems with minimal guidance and supervision.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Understand electrical wiring and basic PLC, VFD and motor control.
• Follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures before work.
• Experience with packaging equipment (scale, case sealer, band sealers).
• Perform and document preventative maintenance.
• Use standard tools and specialized equipment safely.
• Promote a safety culture and seek improvement opportunities for plant safety.
• Complete documents as required by department guidelines.
• Comply with SOPs, GMPs and SQF standards.
• Execute all duties as assigned by Management.

POSITION SUMMARY

Perform all tasks Involved in the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial machinery, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems in a food processing plant. Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and in proper operating order. Troubleshoot equipment and machinery failures or problems and take corrective action with minimal supervision. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery and documents using the CMMS system. Repairs and/or replaces parts as needed including fabricating parts on lathes and milling machines, welding or soldering as required for the job. Works on refrigeration components and starts compressors as required. Uses a variety of hand and power tools, saws, and welding equipment. Proactively looks for ways to improve the equipment and procedures to help achieve OEE and reliability goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for execution of Preventative Maintenance Duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Graduate or GED

Experience:

• Must have 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing
• Must have basic to advance electrical knowledge

Physical Requirements

• This role requires frequent presence on the production floor and may involve exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and other manufacturing conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, and reach.
• Visual acuity requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception, particularly for work with computers and troubleshooting equipment.
