Job summary

NEBCO Realty Group is looking for a part-time summer support position to assist in maintaining sand and gravel facilities in Nebraska.   • Trims weeds with weed-eaters.

Job Summary

Western Sand & Gravel is looking for a part-time summer support position to assist with maintenance of sand and gravel facilities and equipment. Maintenance helpers complete required safety orientation and on-site safety training before performing any work. All essential duties and responsibilities listed below, and associated tasks, are performed under the direct supervision of a Foreman or Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies while performing duties safely.
  • Cleans exterior of mobile equipment on a weekly basis or as needed, using hose, soap, and water.
  • Sweeps and organizes shop, sweeps concrete slabs outside of shop as needed, using brooms or shovels as needed.
  • Sweeps off truck scales when there are no trucks on or near the scale.
  • Cleans out fuel containments using brooms and shovels. This involves access over a 24” concrete wall and working around fuel tanks.
  • Paints bollards and fuel tanks as needed. May require prep work such as removing old paint using a wire brush and scraper. No chemicals are used other than paint.
  • Trims weeds with weed-eaters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minors will NOT be required or allowed to perform:
  • Operation of handheld power tools, including pressure washer.
  • Operation of company motor vehicles and construction equipment, including high-left trucks such as forklifts, backhoes, front-end loaders, skid loaders or skid-steer loaders.
  • Working inside of open holes and trenches.
  • Any work involving demolition or dismantling of any structures.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma, or currently in high school; and
  • Experience or interest in a construction industry-related career.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Driver’s License
