Job summary

Foster Poultry Farms is seeking a Maintenance Helper to assist with maintenance tasks in the processing plant. You will work with maintenance mechanics and supervisors to ensure safe, reliable operations and quality products.

The role requires basic computer skills, ability to read schematics, and adherence to GMPs/SSOPs. Weekend shifts and overtime may be needed; forklift certification could be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of experience in food processing.
• Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs and SSOPs preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify.
• Strong reading and writing in English required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all assigned electronic/mechanical equipment.
• Support plant maintenance repair work related to plumbing, sheet metal, pneumatics, electrical and electronics, including PLC and microprocessors.
• Assist other crews, maintain safety, housekeeping and sanitation standards per GMPs, SSOPs, USDA.
• Troubleshoot using blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Other duties as assigned.
