Job summary

HumanGood's Terraces at Summitview in Yakima, WA is seeking a Maintenance Helper to join our on-site team. Under supervision, you will perform unskilled maintenance, assist with repairs, and help maintain building systems to ensure resident comfort.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with on-call rotation and occasional snow-removal shifts; pay ranges from $17.13 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. We value reliability, teamwork, and a careful, safety-minded approach.

Qualifications

• Unskilled maintenance work in daily and preventive care.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, roofing, and carpentry tasks.
• Must be able to follow supervisor instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned maintenance duties and routine preventive maintenance.
• Identify deficiencies and follow procedure for correcting problems.
• Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition and notify supervisors to ensure replacements.
• Assist with refurbishment projects and repairs.
• Install, finish, repair, paint, remove and dispose of drywall or other material.
• Pick up and deliver supplies.
• Operate maintenance equipment including hand/power tools, vehicles, and snow blowers.
• Perform electrical work such as repairing and replacing switches, receptacles, lights, and motors.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs and installations.
• Respond to work orders and perform follow-up calls as needed.
• Complete work within scheduled time frame, per supervisor priorities.
• Repair and maintain equipment in resident units and community.
• Maintain emergency equipment for Facility systems.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly for safe operations.
• Utilize various carpentry, electrical, mechanical, masonry, and plumbing tools.
• May perform painting tasks as assigned.

Under direct supervision, Maintenance Helper performs unskilled maintenance work in the daily and preventive care, repair, and maintenance of building systems and equipment; performs plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, masonry, painting, mechanical, and carpentry work. As a representative and team member of the environmental services department, this position is expected to present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction.

Full Time Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM with a rotating on-call schedule & Occasional Season on-call work (i.e. snow removal)

Pay Range:$17.13 - $25 per hour, depending on experience

Work Duties

• Completes work within scheduled time frame, according to budget and priority set by supervisor;
• Repairs and maintains equipment in resident units and in community;
• Maintains emergency equipment for Facility systems;
• Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner to promote effective and safe operations;
• Utilizes a wide array of tools such as carpentry tools, electrical tools, mechanical tools, masonry tools, and plumbing tools;
• May perform painting tasks, as assigned;
• Performs related essential duties as required.
