Ptc Alliance in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a labor-grade janitorial professional to maintain a safer, cleaner facility. Responsibilities include cleaning bays, offices, and common areas, while ensuring safety guards are in place and issues are communicated to supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain factory areas, offices, and grounds.
• Ensure guards are in place and report maintenance issues.
• Operate power-cleaning tools as needed and monitor salt levels for water softeners.
• Assist in snow/ice removal and workplace sanitation tasks.
• Cross-train on floor scrubbers and waste oil handling.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and perform additional duties as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conscientiously work toward running a safer and cleaner operation.
• Ensure that all guards are always in place.
• Inform the supervisors of any maintenance problems or suggested changes to equipment.
• Does routine manual work in cleaning factory working areas, offices, and grounds.
• Duties include a combination of sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, removing chips, oil, other refuse, including restrooms, break areas, main entry hall, and offices in bay 7.
• Empty all trash bins in bays 6-9.
• Empty steel hoppers.
• Operates power-cleaning tools as required.
• Monitors and adds salt to water softer.
• Keeps main entry ways and sidewalks clear of snow and ice, salt as needed.
• Cross-train in floor scrubber, and waste oil handling.
• Collect, wash, dry, and deliver gloves daily to all departments.
• Must be able to operate a forklift.
• Paints facility as needed.
• Assumes various other duties at the direction of the shift supervisor.

Skills and Abilities

• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.

Perform duties proficiently and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. Must have a strong work ethic.
