Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and tidy. You will perform minor repairs, assist with supplies, and sometimes assume the maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, electrical equipment, and safety systems.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies; support the maintenance supervisor in their absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
