Job summary

Genesis Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our nursing center and grounds clean, safe and orderly. You will perform minor repairs, maintain equipment, and support facilities operations on-site in a collaborative team environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry. This role offers comprehensive benefits and a structured path for growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and electrical equipment.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift, and stock supplies.
• Assume maintenance supervisor responsibilities in absence of supervisor.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
