Genesis HealthCare in Charleston, WV is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe and well-presented. You will perform a range of repairs and assist with daily maintenance tasks to support patient and resident well-being.

The role requires basic repair skills and a high school diploma or equivalent, with opportunities to contribute to a collaborative care environment and earn a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds to keep it clean, safe and orderly.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and safety devices.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies.
• Act as Maintenance supervisor in their absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Posted Salary Range

USD $15.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
