Job summary

Genesis HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and surrounding grounds clean, safe, and well-presented. You will perform minor repairs and support the maintenance team on-site.

The position involves handling supplies, changing HVAC filters, and potentially covering supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor, with a focus on quality care environments for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic wiring knowledge.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Basic carpentry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs and safety systems.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift and stock supplies; assume supervisor responsibilities in absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
