Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Bloomfield, NM seeks a Maintenance Assistant to keep the nursing center and grounds clean, safe, and orderly while maintaining a pleasing appearance.

You will perform minor repairs, change HVAC filters, lift and stock supplies, and may assume Maintenance supervisor duties in the supervisor's absence. Qualifications include a high school diploma and basic wiring, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent is required.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition with a pleasing appearance.
• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, and safety devices.
• Change filters on HVAC equipment.
• Carry, lift, and stock supplies.
• May assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant completes a variety of tasks to maintain the nursing center and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition along with a pleasing appearance.

• Make minor repairs to handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers
• Changes filters on HVAC equipment
• Carries, lifts and stocks supplies
• Assume Maintenance supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence

Qualifications

High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry.
