Job summary

The General Motors Maintenance Group Leader will supervise a team of skilled hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, while enforcing safety, quality, and efficiency in line with SPQRCE guidelines.

You will coordinate maintenance activities, review daily plans, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced plant environment, including rotating shifts and weekend coverage to meet production demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict and make decisions.
• Experience leading people and addressing performance concerns.
• Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve problems.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, email, etc).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Willingness to regularly work weekends to meet production demands (about two weekends per month).
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan and adjust operations as needed.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting with competing priorities.
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations.
• Conduct checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results.
• Proactively offer solutions to operational or technical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain productivity and quality in line with standards.
• Implement divisional and corporate policies and safety and housekeeping practices.
• Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside the work group.
• Supervise efficient use of labor, inventory, and machinery.
• Establish a course of action to complete jobs or projects.
