Job summary

Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the hotel grounds in a safe, neat, and aesthetically pleasing condition, while delivering personalized guest service aligned with the K.E.E.P. values.

You will assist in coordinating and supervising ground maintenance, operate mowers and similar equipment, and follow schedules and safety protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality grounds with dependable attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.
• Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to communicate verbally effectively.

Overview

The responsibility of the Groundskeeper is to maintain the grounds of Golden Nugget Lake Tahoe in a condition of safety, neatness, and aesthetic attractiveness. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating, supervising and participating in the ground maintenance work of the property.
• Assist in assigning duties to ground crew, participates in those duties and inspects completion of work.
• Assist in any emergency as needed.
• Observes all health hazards and warnings.
• Operate equipment, such as mowers, edgers, tractors and the like.
• Comply with directions and instructions from the supervisor and perform other tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned.
• Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of good business practices and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.
• Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.
• Meets attendance standards and comply with notification procedures for absences.
• Provides complete and accurate information on the conduct of business.
• Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of business.
• Comply with policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
• Follows the daily work schedule and makes good use of time.

• Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, crowds, smoke, and vibration.
• This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.

• Maintain emotional control under stress that may be required.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to move throughout the hotel (standing, walking, kneeling, and bending) for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
• Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly walking up to distances of 500 ft. during shift.
• Frequently stooping, reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. There are occasional hot and cold temperature changes.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a smoke-filled environment.
• Work with others in close spaces.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Walk/stand on tile/mats/carpet/cement.
