Job summary

Minnesota Zoo seeks a General Maintenance Worker Lead to supervise frontline staff and perform hands-on tasks across campus buildings, grounds, and public spaces. You will direct daily operations in building services, custodial tasks, and grounds upkeep, ensuring safety and readiness.

The role requires travel between campus sites, operating a vehicle when needed, and coordinating with public teams to meet operational needs. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license to operate fleet vehicles.
• Experience with custodial practices, cleaning chemicals, sanitation standards.
• Experience performing groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance.
• Ability to use hand tools and small equipment safely.
• Effective verbal communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to organize work, set priorities, and adapt to needs.
• Ability to work respectfully with diverse staff and guests.
