Job summary

Tyson Foods in Springdale, AR is seeking an industrial maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while upholding Tyson safety policies. This 12-hour shift, Wed 12 PM–6 PM and Thu–Sat 6 AM–6 PM, requires preventive maintenance, documentation, and diagnosing electrical/mechanical issues without supervision.

The role involves physical work, ladders, and lifting up to 70 lbs, with adherence to safety programs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program or have 6 months of experience in industrial maintenance or 1 year of technical college training.
• Certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology is acceptable.
• Industrial maintenance may include work as fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment while upholding safety policies.
• Provide troubleshooting and repair of mechanical malfunctions.
• Prepare written documentation of actions taken to fix equipment problems.
• Respond to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergencies.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Complete paperwork and reports.
• Comply with lockout/tagout and other safety programs.
• Diagnose and repair with minimal supervision.
• Assist with other mechanics as needed.

Work schedule: Wednesday 12 PM - 6 PM; Thursday - Saturday 6 AM - 6 PM (12-hour shifts)

Job description:

• · Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
• · Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction.
• · Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems.
• · Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
• · Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• · Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
• · Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs.
• · Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
• · Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision.
• · Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
• · Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed.
• · Perform other duties as assigned.
• · Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, cold and/or humid.
• · The positions physical requirements will include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders, lifts, and scaffolds.
• · Lifting will also be required and depending on department could be up to 70lbs.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an industrial maintenance program (proof of enrollment required) or have 6 months of experience working in an industrial maintenance or 1 year of classroom training from technical college (proof of training with passing grade required) or must have graduated from a technical college with a certification in Electronics technology or industrial maintenance technology. Industrial maintenance will be considered work as a fabricator, electrician, or plant maintenance listed on the application.

• Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
• This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
