Job summary

BD in Massachusetts (Woburn) is seeking an Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on complex manufacturing equipment and maintain clean room environments. The role requires hands-on mechanical skills, familiarity with PLC controls, HVAC systems, and environmental controls, plus strong communication abilities.

The position involves coordinating with vendors, documenting activities, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the facility.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Experience with PLC controls and general manufacturing equipment.
• HVAC knowledge as applied to cleanrooms and environmental controls.
• Familiarity with MS Office for report writing and record keeping.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment per schedule and document all maintenance.
• Provide building and clean room maintenance (Class 10,000) and coordinate with vendors for services.
• Maintain inventories and anticipate parts, supplies, and equipment needs.
• Troubleshoot processes and equipment; implement corrective actions.
• Prepare detailed repair reports for production equipment.
• Support continuous improvement programs and help implement them across the facility.
• Minimize downtime by planning routine maintenance with production.
• Operate power tools to fabricate or modify parts as needed.
• Occasionally work overtime to meet production demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of equipment per schedule and document all preventative maintenance.
• Provide building and clean room (Class 10,000) maintenance Communicate and arrange with vendors to provide maintenance services of equipment, building, HVAC, lighting, etc.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
• Troubleshoots processes and equipment; develop and implement corrective action.
• Completes detailed repair reports for production equipment.
• Supports and assists in the development of continuous improvement programs and participates in the implementation of these programs throughout the facility as required
• Controls downtime by informing management and production workers of routine preventive maintenance activities.
• Uses power tools to fabricate or alter or adjust parts or components.
• The ability to work overtime as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of complex manufacturing equipment.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent of more than 5 years of experience.
• Forklift certification with a minimum of one (1) year of experience utilizing equipment to move heavy objects and materials (Pallet Jack, dollies, etc...) preferred
• Basic knowledge of applicable GMP and ISO regulations and Federal and State Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health Regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA, MassDEP)
• Strong Mechanical aptitude required
• Basic knowledge of complex equipment using PLC controls
• Basic Knowledge of HVAC systems as applied to cleanrooms
• Knowledge of environmental controls
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough understanding of MS office

The salary or hourly rate offered is determined by the role's specific requirements, including any applicable step rate pay system at the work location. Salary Range Information

$21.40 - $34.20 USD Hourly
