Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a Maintenance Worker in the Transportation and Drainage Operations/Ditch Maintenance area. You will perform basic maintenance, housekeeping, fabrication, and routine servicing of vehicles, and operate power tools and equipment.

The role requires physical work, lifting, and exposure to heat, cold, and air pollutants. A Texas Class C driver’s license is needed, and the position is in Houston with variable workdays.

Qualifications

• Performs basic maintenance and repairs to structures, facilities, and equipment.
• Includes housekeeping activities, fabrication and installations, and routine cleaning and servicing of vehicles.
• Operates power and hand tool equipment and performs painting, roofing, carpentry, and plumbing tasks as needed.
