Job summary

The Lafayette, a Phoenix Senior Living community in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Maintenance Tech /Facilities Assistant to join our team. The role supports the Facilities Director in maintaining the community, performing minor repairs, and coordinating with vendors.

This position is Monday to Friday with some weekends, totaling about 32 hours per week. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma and at least one year of related experience, are capable multi-taskers, and flexible to meet resident

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/ GED required.
• One year job related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review the maintenance log daily and complete tasks in scope, initial and date each task.
• Inspect furniture and arrange maintenance; schedule detail cleanings with vendors.
• Complete minor repairs (faucet washers, latches, toilet handles); unclog drains and change bulbs.
• Hang bulletin boards, pictures, coat hooks in resident suites and offices.
• Act as liaison with Facilities Director, Executive Director and external vendors.
• Touch up paint, refinishing furniture, moving furniture, and transporting materials.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Steam clean or shampoo carpet as needed.
• Adjust heating, cooling and ventilation systems; replace filters.
• Gather and empty trash; remove outdoor debris from porches, lot and dumpster area.
• Replace light bulbs throughout the community and notify supervisor of major repairs.
