Job summary

Altria Group, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Engineer in Chester, VA to provide mechanical, utilities, and infrastructure engineering support to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.

You will lead root cause investigations, drive continuous improvement, coach technicians, and collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Reliability, and Utilities teams to implement impactful solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering and/or professional certification in technical field is preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years proven experience in maintenance and engineering preferably in a process manufacturing facility.
• Strong technical problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops Maintenance Procedure Use Policy and oversees procedure creation and review.
• Acts as SME in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
• Delivers maintenance input into project activities and represents maintenance on projects.
• Plans and executes projects and supports maintenance using union and external resources.
• Supports utility equipment including boilers, chillers, air systems, and HVAC.
