Job summary

Altria Client Services LLC is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to Chester, VA to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance. You will lead troubleshooting, support utilities, and collaborate across Production, Maintenance, and Reliability teams.

The role emphasizes formal maintenance procedures, project input, and proactive reliability strategies to reduce failures and optimize operations.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering preferred.
3+ years maintenance/engineering experience, preferably in a process manufacturing facility.
Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication; cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

Develops Maintenance Procedure Use Policy; reviews procedures and creates job checklists; initiates Change Management.
Subject matter expert in equipment failures during root cause investigations.
Delivers maintenance input into project activities; acts as maintenance representative for projects.
Plan and execute projects and support maintenance using internal union labor and external resources.
Support utility equipment including boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, steam, compressed air, and more.
Collaborates with SMEs to develop work scopes and drive solutions.
Delivers input to Reliability Team and supports reliability initiatives to minimize failures.
Performs regular field assessments of equipment.
Support asset criticality assessments and maintenance strategy development.
