Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Charleston, SC, invites applications for a production maintenance engineer role focused on monitoring department performance and improving equipment reliability. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field with 3+ years of automotive maintenance experience, strong PLC and CAD

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree.
3+ years of relevant experience; automotive environment preferred.
Experience with PLCs such as OMRON, AllenBradley, Siemens.
CAD experience with SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX.
Hands-on with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer controlled systems.

Responsibilities

Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliability.
Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment in cooperation with staff.
Coordinates activities of third party contractors and suppliers.
Investigates problems, analyzes root causes and derives resolutions using 8D.
Supports development of operational strategies to achieve energy and financial objectives.
Monitor expenses and profitability.
Supports equipment uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE.
Proposes and manages small-scale projects end-to-end.
Collaborates on scope of work with external providers.
Drives lean manufacturing improvements and continuous improvement processes.
