Job summary

OxyChem is seeking entry-level Mechanical Engineering interns for its Summer Intern Program. The role supports maintenance engineering with hands-on projects across multiple US locations.

Interns will work on real equipment reliability initiatives and gain exposure to site leadership. Applicants must be pursuing a mechanical engineering degree, with a graduation window of Dec 2027–May 2029, and a minimum 2.85 GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Graduation date between Dec 2027 and May 2029.
• Minimum 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Must be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities as a priority.
• Evaluate, design, and recommend changes in maintenance activities to increase reliability and reduce costs.
• Coordinate among Production, Project, Process and Corporate Engineering on capital projects.
• Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations and maintenance; troubleshoot and support outages.
• Develop and institute preventive/predictive maintenance plans and supervise installations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

Graduation date December 2027 - May 2029

Minimum 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale
