Job summary

OxyChem's Summer Intern Program offers hands-on, real-world experience in maintenance, process, and project engineering across multiple U.S. sites.

You will work on meaningful projects alongside site and executive leaders, gaining practical skills and building your professional network. Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029, maintaining at least a 2.85 GPA, and willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Graduation date December 2027 - May 2029.
• Maintains minimum GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale.
• Willing to relocate to multiple U.S. locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of environment and safety of employees, customers, and communities.
• Evaluate and design maintenance activities to increase reliability and reduce costs.
• Coordinate between Production, Project, Process and Corporate Engineering on capital projects.
• Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot process operating problems and investigate equipment failures.
• Develop and institute preventive/predictive maintenance plans.
• Supervise installation and monitor performance to improve reliability and reduce cost.
• Provide troubleshooting during outages.
