Job summary

OxyChem invites applicants for a Summer Internship as a Maintenance Engineer Intern. You will work in a fast-paced environment, focusing on maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability while learning hands-on engineering processes across multiple sites in the United States.

Qualified candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a graduation window of December 2027–May 2029, maintaining at least a 2.85 GPA and willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Minimum 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
• Willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of the environment and safety of employees, customers, and communities as a priority; evaluate, design, and recommend maintenance changes to increase reliability.
• Coordinate between Production, Project, Process, and Corporate Engineering on capital project implementation including AFEs.
• Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations and maintenance; troubleshoot process problems, investigate failures, and develop reports.
• Develop and institute preventive/predictive maintenance plans, supervise installation, monitor performance, and improve reliability while reducing cost.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support during planned and unplanned outages.
