Job summary

OxyChem is seeking entry-level Mechanical Engineering students for a Maintenance Engineer Intern role across various U.S. locations.

You will analyze maintenance activities to improve reliability, support capital projects, and assist operations with technical tasks while gaining practical plant experience. The program emphasizes safety, environment, and cost reduction, offering relocation assistance or housing where applicable, and a 9/80 schedule with a 3-day weekend every other week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale.
• Willing to relocate to diverse US locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain protection of health and safety and environmental responsibilities as priority.
• Coordinate with Production, Project, Process and Corporate Engineering on capital projects (AFE preparation).
• Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance; troubleshoot process problems and equipment failures.
• Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance plans; supervise installation and monitor reliability.
• Support troubleshooting during planned and unplanned outages.
