Job summary

Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, WA is seeking a Maintenance Engineer III to support the Facility Operations team. The role focuses on keeping hospital facilities safe and functional across the health system.

You will inspect, repair, and install mechanical and electrical systems; perform preventive maintenance; and collaborate with supervisors on external projects. Ideal candidates have strong trades experience and a commitment to service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 3–6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a City of Tacoma Chief Operating Engineer License
• Minimum four years experience in at least one major building trade: Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry
• Current Washington State Driver's License with clean driving record per MHS standards

Responsibilities

• Evaluate routine malfunctioning conditions, initiate and perform repairs
• Install mechanical and electrical equipment per diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications
• Perform routine preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with supervisor in obtaining bids and inspections on externally run projects
• Partner with a service-oriented attitude and professional integrity

Position Summary

The Maintenance Engineer III is an entry level opportunity on our Facility Operations team. In this role, you will ensure MultiCare patients and families have the best possible experience when visiting facilities across our health system.

Responsibilities

• You will be able to evaluate routine malfunctioning conditions, initiate and perform repairs
• You will install mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams sketches, operational manuals, and manufacturers specifications
• You will perform routine preventive maintenance
• You will collaborate with supervisor in obtaining bids and inspections on externally run projects
• You will partner with a service-oriented attitude and professional integrity

Requirements

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); or three to six (3-6) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a City of Tacoma Chief Operating Engineer License
• Minimum four (4) years experience working in at least one of the major building trades: Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, commercial carpentry
• Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state
