Job summary
Deaconess Hospital seeks a Staff RN to join a hospital-based team. This role utilizes specialized training and nursing care in a multidisciplinary environment to deliver high-quality care.
The position features a 0.9 FTE with day shifts, 12-hour rotations, and weekends on rotation. You will contribute to a best-in-class nursing organization focused on clinical decision-making and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree required; RN license in WA or multistate endorsement.
- Advanced nursing degree preferred (MSN/PhD/DNP).
- Current RN license in Washington State or MLS endorsement.
- Current BLS certification.
- Certification in specialty area preferred; 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating continuously.
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process per policies and protocols.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience.
- Foster a learning environment for patients, families and staff.
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care respecting diverse backgrounds.

- You will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis
- You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols
- Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and cost reduction
- Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff and members of the health care team
- Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreement
- Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
- Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
- Current BLS Certification required
- ACLS or NALS or PALS or TNCC or NRP certification, as required by facility or department
- Certification in specialty area preferred
- One (1) year of experience in acute care setting preferred
Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388‑bed acute‑care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $43.85 - $80.58 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
