Job summary

Loews Nashville Hotel seeks a skilled Engineer II to perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance across the property. You will respond to requests, inspect systems, and ensure safe, efficient operations for guests and team members.

The role emphasizes problem-solving, teamwork and adherence to MSDS safety standards, with opportunities to support events and ongoing training within a luxury hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on maintenance or skilled trades experience in hospitality settings.
• Post-high school training in a maintenance or engineering-related discipline preferred.
• Certifications or formal training in HVAC, plumbing, electrical or related trades preferred.
• Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry or related trades.
• Ability to read blueprints/diagrams and operate trade tools safely.
• Excellent communication and guest-first mindset; adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled trade work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergencies.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify issues and address them proactively.
• Operate tools and hazardous materials safely in accordance with MSDS guidelines.
• Complete maintenance records and documentation for all work performed.
• Support dispatch responsibilities and team workflow as needed.
• Communicate status and concerns clearly with supervisors.
• Assist with special event setup and minor maintenance as required.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment.

What You'll Do:

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
• Operate tools, equipment, and hazardous materials safely, following all MSDS guidelines.
• Complete required documentation and maintenance records for all work performed.
• Assist with dispatch responsibilities and support team workflow as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job status and operational concerns.
• Execute emergency response procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
• Support special event setup and minor maintenance as required.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-kept work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to hotel policies, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Promote teamwork, safety, and hospitality in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.

Your Qualifications Include:

• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in maintenance or skilled trades with journey-level responsibilities in a hospitality or hotel maintenance environment, preferred.
• Post‑high school training or equivalent education in a maintenance or engineering-related discipline, preferred.
• Certification or additional formal training related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other trades, preferred.
• Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining trade-related tools, equipment, and systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest‑first mindset.
• Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS compliance, and hazardous materials handling. Experience with emergency response procedures and routine inspections.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and repair manuals.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, work on ladders, and lift/pull/push 50 plus pounds regularly throughout the shift.
