Job summary

Loews Coronado Bay Resort is seeking an Engineer II to perform skilled trade work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance. You will respond to maintenance requests, inspect systems, and ensure safety and reliability of facilities in a fast‑paced resort environment.

The role requires hands‑on multi‑trade proficiency, problem‑solving skills, and a guest‑centric mindset. Join a team focused on safety, service, and high‑quality hospitality at a premier San Diego area

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in maintenance or skilled trades in a hospitality or hotel maintenance environment.
  • Post‑high school training or equivalent education in a maintenance or engineering‑related discipline preferred.
  • Certification or additional formal training related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other trades preferred.
  • Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining trade‑related tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest‑first mindset.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS compliance, and hazardous materials handling.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled trade work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance disciplines.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and hazardous materials safely, following all MSDS guidelines.
  • Complete required documentation and maintenance records for all work performed.
  • Assist with dispatch responsibilities and support team workflow as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job status and operational concerns.
  • Execute emergency response procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Support special event setup and minor maintenance as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well‑kept work areas and equipment.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Promote teamwork, safety, and hospitality in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.
