Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group's AC Portland Downtown is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team, ensuring guest rooms and public areas operate safely and efficiently.

You will respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other hotel systems, and document work while maintaining logs. The role requires strong teamwork and independent problem-solving in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school, plus construction courses.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to maintain logs/records; driving may be required.
• Strong team player with independent decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests in a courteous, efficient, and safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, etc.).
• Monitor engineering functions during off-hours and respond to emergencies.
• Do rounds to ensure systems are in working order.
• Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
• Complete work orders, take readings, and log parts used.
• Handle elevator breakdowns and maintain maintenance programs.
• Report unsafe conditions to leadership.
