Job summary

The Stowers Institute for Medical Research is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operating reliably. The role encompasses responding to service calls, conducting repairs, and maintaining safety and efficiency across the facility.

Four 10-hour shifts per week are required, with opportunities to utilize the Metasys building automation system and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Missouri Class A Operating Engineers License preferred; must obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls for temperature, lighting, and related issues.
  • Perform general mechanical repairs such as greasing motors.
  • Replace air handler filters, belts, and pumps.
  • Perform electrical repairs, including lamp/b ballast replacements, switches, outlets.
  • Repair plumbing, leaks, and drain/toilet issues.
  • Maintain boilers, chillers, and other HVAC equipment; test water treatment and safety valves.
  • Clean mechanical areas including boiler room and maintenance shop.
  • Operate Johnson Controls Metasys building automation system to monitor systems.
  • Work independently and in teams; maintain reliability and attention to detail.
