Job summary

thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies in Danville, IL, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure smooth operation of the production line. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and spans troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance planning.

You will communicate with line operators, reference manuals for actions, and plan for major repairs and downtime reduction. A strong mechanical/electrical background is required, with hands-on skills to support maintenance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 6-10 years of experience in a technical manufacturing field.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics and lubrication; basic robotics/electrics.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with line operators regarding technical assistance.
• Use manuals and sources to determine repair actions and support major repairs.
• Plan for future shut-downs and major repairs; develop preventative maintenance plans.
• Address urgent maintenance issues and perform physical repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with contractors, supervise work and ensure 5S standards are maintained.
• Sustain uptime by compiling Downtime Reports and proposing improvements.
