Job summary

Friendwell Group is seeking a Hotel Engineer/Maintenance Technician to keep hotel facilities and equipment in excellent working condition and support guest comfort and safety.

The role covers carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC maintenance, and masonry, with routine inspections and preventive maintenance. You will respond to guest requests and emergencies, maintaining PM records and following emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent vocational training; apprenticeship or in-plant training acceptable.
• Experience in hotel engineering is a plus.
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders promptly and courteously.
• Diagnose and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.
• Perform repairs across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, and masonry as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain records of repairs and update PM program as required.
• Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures and shut-offs.
• Respond quickly in emergency situations.

The Hotel Engineer/Maintenance Technician ensures that all hotel facilities and equipment aremaintained in excellent working conditions. This position responds promptly to maintenancerequests and supports the overall guest experience by ensuring a safe and comfortableenvironment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficientmanner.
• Diagnose and repair non-functioning machinery and equipment.
• Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including:
  • Carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical work
  • Painting
  • HVAC maintenance
  • Masonry
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and report items requiring furtherattention.
• Maintain and update the Guest Room Preventive Maintenance Program.
• Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including the location of all emergencyshut-offs.
• Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Requirements:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry,employees must be flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.

• Available to work shifts of 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills with guests and team members
• Strong technical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to operate heavy machinery
• Lenses and certifications are a plus

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education,apprenticeship, in-plant training, or on-the-job training required.

Experience:

Previous hotel engineering experience a plus
