Job description

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will perform special maintenance projects, manage small investment capital, maintain maintenance procedures, perform general maintenance engineering tasks, and support the maintenance function for the site. You will report directly to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager and collaborate with maintenance technicians, supervisors, reliability personnel, and operations to implement maintenance strategies that support safety, quality, and production goals. This position is based onsite in Lake Charles, LA.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical engineering tasks related to equipment design, troubleshooting, and modification.
• Lead special assigned maintenance projects.
• Provide engineering support on repetitive or complex maintenance problems.
• Update and draft maintenance procedures.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Review vendor drawings for compliance with site standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering is required; 10+ years of directly related maintenance engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience; experience within manufacturing or industrial maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to understand and apply maintenance procedures.
• Working knowledge of process safety management.
• Understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
• Proficiency with computer systems (Microsoft Office, SAP preferred) for data entry, analysis, and retrieval.
• Familiarity with equipment operating in corrosive and erosive processes is a plus.
