Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our Laurel, MD hotel team. You will oversee property grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, performing preventive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly and safely.

Ideal candidates have HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge, with at least three years in hotel maintenance; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of hotel maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and technical disciplines.
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Check fixtures, lighting and signs; maintain parts and bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders promptly.
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner.
• Completes daily rounds and reports issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
