Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The role involves hands-on maintenance across guest areas and public spaces, with a focus on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks in a hotel environment.

You will manage preventative maintenance, respond to work orders, and support facilities operations to ensure a high standard of guest comfort. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in hotel maintenance, strong technical skills, and solid communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a hotel maintenance role preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs; ensure spare parts and bulbs available.
• Responds to maintenance orders promptly and completes work orders timely.
• Conducts daily rounds and reports problems; performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
