Job summary

Choice Hotels International is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for The Radisson Hotel La Crosse in Wisconsin. This full-time role trains the right candidate eager to grow in hotel maintenance.

Responsibilities include responding to equipment faults, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping lobby and dining areas in good condition. Requires driving record check and HVAC/plumbing/electrical experience a plus; HVAC-CPO certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in facility maintenance, preferably in hospitality.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a driving record check.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Working knowledge of computers and basic math.
• HVAC/plumbing/electrical experience is a plus; HVAC CPO certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responds to customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately.
• Maintains problem logbook and prioritizes repairs.
• Reports hazards or injuries and takes corrective action.
• Maintains rooms and public areas in operating condition through repairs.
• Follows Room Preventative Maintenance Program and performs preventative maintenance.
• Keeps hotel lobbies, restaurants, and facilities in good condition.
• Repairs furniture, flooring, windows, and decorations as needed.
• Performs routine equipment checks and maintains operational standards.

TheRadisson Hotel La Crosse is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team! Experience is not required, as we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow in the role.

The Radisson Hotel La Crosse isa 163 room Hotel nested within Riverside Park overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River.

SHIFT:

Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | Hours and days of the week may vary based on scheduling needs | Weekend availablity is required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responds to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately
• Maintains problem logbook to record the equipment in need of repair and prioritizes efforts accordingly
• Reports any hazards or injuries in the department or hotel and takes immediate action to correct
• Maintains rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed
• Understands the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.)
• Performs preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
• Maintains the condition of hotel lobbies and restaurants
• Repairs furniture, carpet, marble, tile windows, mirrors and decorations as necessary
• Maintains operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ideal candidate will have facility maintenance experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a driving record check
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Works well independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Commitment to exceptional guest service
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when handling all situations
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the hotel
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends
• Working knowledge of computer and math skills.
• Experience in pool maintenance, HVAC units, plumbing, and electrical work is also a benefit
• Certifications for HVAC CPO preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to hear with 100% accuracy with correction
• Ability to stand and exert well paced mobility for an eight (8) hour shift
• Ability to lift, pull, push up to 100 pounds on an ongoing basis
• Must be able to squat, bend, kneel and twist on an ongoing basis
